NATO STANAG 6001
NATO STANAG 6001 is a state accredited monolingual military language examination system, in which candidates can take exams in English at three levels: level 1/basic level, level 2/intermediate level and level 3/advanced level.
The exams are conducted in four exam sessions per year: in January, March, June and November.
All exams are open to the public, which means that anybody over the age of 14 can register for an exam after paying the exam fee.
A special feature of the STANAG exams is that candidates can register for the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) separately.
In case of a successful exam, a candidate obtains a state accredited language examination certificate and/or a non-accredited certificate.
A state accredited language examination certificate is issued in the following cases:
- if a candidate passes the listening, speaking, reading and writing exams in the same exam period, he or she obtains a combined state accredited certificate.
- if a candidate passes the listening and speaking exams in the same exam period, he or she obtains an oral state accredited certificate.
- if a candidate passes the reading and writing exams in the same exam period, he or she obtains a written state accredited certificate.
In addition to the state accredited certificate, a successful candidate is also issued with a non-accredited certificate which contain his or her SLP results.
If a candidate passes an exam only in one skill, he or she will be awarded only a non-accredited certificate.
